A CLOTHES shop in Beaminster square  has announced that it is to close.

Little Boutique at No. 2 The Square in Beaminster has revealed it will close at the end of December with the owner citing personal circumstances as well as further challenges faced this year that have forced the decision.

The store, which opened during the Covid-19 pandemic,  has its own 'Little Boutique', 'Emporium' and 'Nearly New sections' providing items for a wide range of customers with varying price ranges.

In a post on Facebook on Tuesday, November 6, the owner declared she was left with 'no choice but to close the business. A post read: "With huge regret and great sadness, I have decided to close the business at No2 The Square.

"I opened the Little Boutique at a very difficult time, during Covid, hoping there would be light at the end of the tunnel, but this year has proven itself to be even more challenging and coupled with the fact that my personal circumstances have changed, I am left with no choice but to close the business.

"Over the last few months, I have introduced new initiatives that I hoped would help bring new footfall and business, but sadly, it’s a little too late and whilst I’m sure in the longer-term Nearly New and The Emporium will have a positive impact, I no longer have the time to support their development.

"The shop will officially close at the end of December unless there is someone who would like to take over the lease of the space and continue running the business."

Items will be reduced in the Little Boutique stock in the run-up to Christmas while those who are selling items in the Nearly New and Emporium sections of the store must collect any unsold items at the beginning of January at the latest,

The statement continued: "We will start to reduce all Little Boutique stock in the run-up to Christmas – so there’ll be some real bargains to be had!

"All of our fixtures and fittings will also be available for sale.

"I would like to express my thanks to my wonderful team and loyal customers, who have been so supportive and have championed the shop through the last two years.

The shop is situated in Beaminster square next to Brassica Restaurant.
