Police are searching for a west Dorset writer who is missing. 

BAFTA-winning TV scriptwriter Nick Fisher, aged 63, was last seen in Hooke, near Beaminster, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, November 15.

Officers are appealing for help and information from the public to find him.

Nick left the area in a silver Nissan Navara truck with the registration number YE71 DFA.

He is described as 5ft 9ins tall and of medium build with sandy coloured hair and tattoos on both arms.

He left with a brown and white springer spaniel dog.

Inspector David Parr, of Dorset Police, said: “Nick left the area unexpectedly and has not been in contact with family or friends, which is out of character.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Nick, or a man matching the description given, to please contact Dorset Police.

“Also, I am appealing to anyone who has seen the vehicle either travelling in the area or parked up locally to please come forward.

“Finally, if you see this appeal Nick – please contact us or your family as we all just want to make sure you are safe and well.”

Nick is a known writer, with credits in film, radio, stage, print journalism and books.

He presented Screaming Reels and has worked alongside Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, co-authoring  The River Cottage Book of Fish. 

Nick won a BAFTA in 2006 for ITV children's drama The Giblet Boys.
