A crash had closed part of the A37 this morning. 

Emergency services were called shortly before 6.40am.

A two-vehicle collision has taken place on the A37 Long Ash Lane at Wardon Hill between Dorchester and Yeovil. 

The road has been closed by police, who are advising motorists to  avoid the area and use alternative roads.

As well as police, paramedics and firefighters are at the scene. 

According to Dorchester Fire Station, crews arrived to find a two-car crash with two casualties, one of whom was trapped due to their injuries.

Crews cut the roof off of one of the vehicles and gave casualty care until the arrival of the ambulance service.

The council highways team has also been called to help clear oil spillage from the road.
