A WITNESS appeal has been launched by police after gardens in Lyme Regis were defaced by graffiti which contained racial or anti-semitic elements.

Police received reports that overnight on Friday, November 11 the gazebo, steps, and pathway in Langmoor Gardens were subject to the vandalism. 

Some of this graffiti had racial or anti-semitic elements. 

Police Constable Kirsti Frecknall, of West Dorset police, said: “Dorset Police takes hate crime extremely seriously and we are committed to identifying those responsible.

“We are working with Lyme Regis Town Council and following all possible lines of enquiry available to us and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.”
