Dorset could experience flooding today after the Met Office issued a weather warning for heavy downpours.

A yellow weather warning was issued, with heavy rain forecast leading to the possibility of spray and flooding on roads.

The warning was in place from midnight last night until 1pm today, Tuesday, November 15.

The Met Office warning says: "Heavy rain may lead to some flooding and disruption to travel.

"A band of rain will move east across southern parts of England and Wales during Tuesday morning. Some of the rain will be heavy, with 15-30 mm of rain falling widely and as much as 40-50 mm over parts of Dartmoor and south facing high ground of southern Wales and the Marches and parts of southern England."

The Met Office has warned of possible disruption and delays to public transport and says flooding of 'a few homes and businesses is possible'.

The warning follows flash-flooding in parts of Dorset last month as a result of heavy rainfall.
