A theatre in Lyme Regis is putting the local community firmly in the limelight with an upcoming documentary.

The Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis is making a documentary about the town which will be filmed over the next six months with interviews and contributions from those from within the community.

The documentary aims to reflect the lives of senior residents of the town while also looking into what the future holds there. It is hoped that the film will be ready to be viewed next summer at the Marine Theatre.

The Marine is currently holding a series of free daytime events with tea and cake, including a tea dance, an afternoon of vintage music and a Christmas cabaret.

At these free arts and social events at the Marine, older members of the community are invited to chat about their lives in the area.

The interviews will be an opportunity to talk about their childhood, growing up in and around the area, favourite places and experiences of life in the town. These will all be recorded on camera.

If you are willing to be involved in the documentary you can contact the theatre by email at creative@marinetheatre.com or attend one of the free events for more details.
