He's the master of the one-liners and utterly pun-tastic company.

You may have seen him on TV's Mock the Week, caught him on YouTube or been told one of his wacky gags.

Yes it's Milton Jones, one of the UK's most recognisable comedians, known for his deadpan style, crazy hair, loud shirts and surrealist play on words comedy - and he's coming to Bridport.

You may just have to remind him where he is though when he brings his new standup show to the Electric Palace this month as he sometimes gets confused about where he is performing.

Milton, who has been described as 'fast, absurd and very funny' by the Radio Times, graces the west Dorset stage on November 17 in a show supported by Tom Houghton.

The Bridport visit is one of 35 new dates added to the 'Milton Impossible' laugh-fest which originally began back in 2020, and after months of lockdowns and cancellations, Milton revealed he was glad to be out touring again.

He told the Bridport News: "I think before Covid I was a bit jaded. I was thinking I still had all this tour to do.

"It's almost like fasting when you stop eating you get quite hungry and by the end of it (lockdown) I was like 'come on! Let me out I want to do some stuff.' The audiences are a bit like that as well."

He quipped: "You look around and there are still some gaps in the crowd, so I don't know where they went. They might have died for all I know!"

The comedian added: "Because all the dates were shunted back, again and again, I actually started the tour in 2020 but the dates kept moving back. It is nice to be able to do it now."

The comedian's last tour, Milton Jones is Out There, was a sell-out and supported by more than 100,000 comedy lovers across the UK and Ireland. The new tour will include Milton's usual array of eclectically bright shirts, props and around 250 comedy gags to match his spy-themed show.

Milton revealed he is looking forward to returning to the west country as part of this extended tour. When asked if he had performed at the Electric Palace before he said: "I think I have! A tour or two ago I did for sure. The trouble is I only see a dark room and they're all quite similar really.

"I have to remember where I am. The other night I went 'it's really nice to be here in... Reading?' They thought I was joking, they had no idea that I had lost track.

"It sounds rude when people have come to see you and you can't actually remember where you are. It's nice to be back on the road!"

He added: "The westcountry is quite laid back without being too insular. Sometimes you go to places, let's say up North. Where you're the only thing happening that week, they sort of laugh more by shouting at each other from across the room rather than all the jokes you make. Or they laugh more at you making an idiot of their friend and you sort of go 'well I'm glad you're enjoying it but there wasn't much point in me writing jokes!"

Catch Milton Jones at the Electric Palace, Bridport from 7.30pm on Thursday, November 17. Tickets priced £28.50 can be purchased at https://www.electricpalace.org.uk/events/event/milton-jones/
