Star of Doc Martin and Men Behaving Badly Martin Clunes will once again be switching on the Christmas lights at a house in Bridport.

Mr Clunes, a resident of West Dorset, will return to a couple’s home this year as the guest of honour for the annual charity lights switch-on taking place on Monday, December 5 at 6.30pm.

The house is at 2 White Close in Bradpole.

Every year Monica and Rob Teague put on an illuminating display, even showcasing a snow machine, with last year’s lights raising more than £1,000 for Weldmar Hospicecare.

As patron of Weldmar Hospicecare, Mr Clunes was delighted to do the honours last year, knowing funds raised this year will be going to the end of life care charity. Now he has agreed to turn on the lights again.

This year the lights fundraiser will see donations going to Julia’s House Children’s Hospice with the launch event featuring mulled wine, mince pies, sausage rolls and hot soup.

The lights will be on every evening in December from 5pm to 10pm and Father Christmas will also be at the property every Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm-7pm. For a small donation, a gift will be available for each child.

Parking for the event taking place at 2 White Close, DT63HL is limited.
