There are sewage warnings at several beaches in Dorset after the county was battered by heavy winds from Storm Claudio.
According to the Surfers Against Sewage website, five beaches across the coast are subject to sewage overflow warnings which affect the quality of the water.
The affected beaches are:
- Weymouth, Lodmoor
- Chesil Cove at Chiswell
- Eypemouth
- Seatown
- Charmouth
An interactive map from marine charity Surfers Against Sewage tracks all sewage discharge and issues alerts to warn the public.
The alerts are triggered when sewerage has entered the water in the past 48 hours.
Wessex Water says that the overflows are permitted by the Environment Agency and release mostly stormwater, to prevent people's homes from being flooded.
The company spends £3 million a month to help reduce the frequency of discharges.
It is part of a £150 million investment programme between 2022 and 2025.
Storm Claudio rolled its way through Dorset between midnight and 8am on Tuesday causing mass disruption across the county.
