More pollution alerts have been issued for the Dorset coast after sewage was discharged.
According to marine charity Surfers Against Sewage, eight sites are now a pollution risk, meaning sewage has been discharged within the past 48 hours.
The sites are Charmouth (west stream); Seatown; West Bay; Chesil Cove, Portland; Castletown, Portland; Sandsfoot, Weymouth; Lodmoor, Weymouth; Swanage Central Beach.
An interactive map from Surfers Against Sewage tracks all sewage discharge and issues alerts to warn the public.
Warnings are triggered when sewerage has entered the water within the last 48 hours.
The discharges follows a period of heavy rainfall across Dorset.
Wessex Water says the overflows are permitted by the Environment Agency and operate automatically, releasing mostly stormwater during or after intense rainfall to prevent flooding in people’s homes.
