The winners of an inaugural children's fossil competition have been announced.
The Etches Collection - Museum of Jurassic Marine Life, ran a competition between March and August for children across the country aged between five and 16. Children were invited to enter their fossils with the six winners having their fossils displayed at the museum for an entire year.
The winners are as follows:
5-10 age group
- Pip Melbourne-Thomson
- Abigail Selvaratnam
- Finn Bown Martin
11-16 age group
- George Madeley
- Alexander Murray
- Amber Harris

Museum founder Steve Etches said: “The competition really captured the imaginations of children and families alike.
"We had an extremely high quality of submissions, and I would like to thank everyone who entered and encourage them to carry on fossil hunting and learn as much as possible from the experience.”
