A CLUB for the visually impaired has restarted meetings after taking a break over the summer holidays.

The Bridport Blind Club is a social group for visually impaired people in Bridport and the surrounding area. They usually meet twice a month for a chat and afternoon tea on Tuesdays at the United Hall Church in Bridport.

At their first meeting after the holidays they were entertained by Chris Deacon who brought his guitar and played songs both new and familiar to members of the club who joined in for the choruses, intermixed with his signature humour.

A spokesperson said: "We are looking forward to being entertained in some of our next sessions by local duo 'Val and Dave', and then the local band Rough Assembly.

"We will also hold a talk with exhibits from Bridport Museum which Cheryl Ludgate will be coming to present her wonderful WW2 historical memorabilia. "

The group has room for more members and volunteers and welcomes people from Bridport and the surrounding area. Though known as the Blind Club almost all of the clubs members have some degree of sight.
