Bridport Brownie Sivatia Goligher visited London with her family to pay her respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II by laying a floral tribute.

Sivatia, who goes to Salway Ash Primary School, laid flowers for the Queen in Green Park on behalf of the 1st Bridport Brownies.

Queen Elizabeth II was the Patron of Girlguiding from 1953.

As well as their patron, she was a former Guide and ranger.

Over the years, thousands of girls and young women across the UK and overseas have worked hard to achieve their Queen's Guide Award, the highest award available in Guiding.

Sivatia's mum, Louise Goligher, visited Green Park with her daughter and husband, a veteran who was eager to pay his respects.

She said: "It was nice to see so many tributes from young children. It was a very emotional day… but people were happy as they were there for a reason."

The Queen had a life-long passion for gardens and flora; she regularly attended the Chelsea Flower show. King Charles III helped to select the flowers for her funeral wreath, which were all cut from the gardens at Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House.

Sivatia also decided to cut a flower from her garden, and she laid down a homegrown sunflower with a note.

The note read: "Thank you for being an amazing Patron of Girlguiding, from 1st Bridport Brownies. Rest in peace."

Louise, who met Her Majesty when she was invited to The Queen's Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace in 2013, shared the nation's grief at her passing.

She said: "I am absolutely devastated; she was like a rock for the country."

Like thousands of other mourners, Louise wanted to lay down flowers and described the queues as "lines of continuous people."

Although the death of The Queen has shaken the nation, Louise expressed her anticipation for the reign of King Charles III.

She said: "I am quite excited to see what he will do."
