A spate of thefts including a Land Rover and a catalytic converter have prompted police to urge the public to be mindful of security.

Firstly, a Land Rover was stolen from the West Bexington area on Wednesday, September 28. The vehicle was later discovered by police following the report but was missing components.

As well as this, between the evening of Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1 a catalytic converter was stolen from a motor in the Broadoak area.

Police have advised that suspicious activity should be reported as soon as possible by calling 999. While those requiring security advice can contact the force by their minor and non-emergency number 101.

A statement from Bridport Police said: "Between Friday evening and Saturday morning a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the Broadoak area.

"At lunchtime on Wednesday 28th September, a Land Rover was stolen from the West Bexington area. This was later found with parts missing a couple miles away.

"Please be mindful of your security and be vigilant to and report any suspicious activity. if you believe a crime is in progress, call 999.
