A MAN has been fined after being caught driving at nearly 90mph on the A35.
Ilyia Bratt, whose address was given as Old Castle Road, Weymouth, was sentenced by Weymouth Magistrates Court using the single justice procedure after pleading guilty to exceeding the speed limit.
Bratt, 36, was caught driving a Mercedes at 89mph on the A35 Eype Hill (Miles Cross), Bridport, on February 22, 2022. The speed limit on the road is 50mph.
Bratt was fined £500 and ordered to pay a £50 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account whilst imposing sentence.
