One of Jools Holland’s favourite acts is visiting Lyme Regis for a concert of West African, High Life & Funk music.

Led by Kweku Sackey, aka K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana), expect a shamanistic live performance from a 10 piece band that performs infections dance music from the West African country.

K.O.G - who Jools Holland called “Ghana’s finest” -combines fierce raps with authentic dance moves.

Music has taken Kweku all over the world: music has taken over the world, from Glastonbury’s West Holts stage to Fusion (Germany), and the Commonwealth Games (Gold Cost, Australia), winning the 2018 Young Commonwealth Performer and even performing for Nelson Mandela.

His song ‘If I Know’ was performed live on Later with Jools Holland and extensively played on BBC6 Music.

Born in Accra, Ghana, to a nurse mother and marine engineer father, he grew up with a diverse range of international influences alongside Ghanaian styles. Among his influences are Quincy Jones, Bob Marley, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo .

Tickets for K.O.G Live, on Thursday, October 13, are £16 in advance and £20 at the door.

The performance, at Lyme Regis' Marine Theatre, begins at 8pm.
