JOIN a community choir in Bridport.
Local Vocals is a choir based in Dorset but rather uniquely, rehearses in five different locations and is led by Lesley Whatley.
The group will meet at Bridport United Church on Monday, September 26 from 10am to 12 noon.
Initially formed in 2002 as an adult education project with three choirs in Bridport, Dorchester and Wareham, Lesley has expanded the group to include community choirs in Wimborne and Sherborne.
Local Vocals sings totally Acapella and no musical knowledge is required by members. Most of the songs are personally arranged by Lesley in four parts and she teaches us everything by ear. Remarkably, she holds all the parts of every song in her head and, with no notice, she can recall songs that we have not sung for several years.
