A VERSATILE violinist is returning to town to perform.

Fenella Humphreys will play in a Classic Concert at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday, September 2 at 11.30am.

She'll be joined by Cara Berridge on cello and Daniel Grimwood on piano.

The trio will be performing Schubert's Sonatensatz in B flat major, D28, Frances Hoad's My Fleeting Angel and Piano Trio No 4 in E minor, Op 90 by Dvořák.

Fenella is the winner of the 2018 BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Award and has won critical admiration and audience acclaim with the grace and intensity of her playing.

Described in the press as “alluring”, “unforgettable” and “a wonder”, Fenella is one of the UK’s most established and versatile violinists. She enjoys a busy career combining chamber music and solo work, performing in prestigious venues around the world. She is frequently broadcast on the BBC, Classic FM, Scala Radio and international radio stations.

Cara is a founder member of the Sacconi Quartet who have won prizes at many international competitions and have performed at all the major London venues including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Conway Hall. They have travelled extensively throughout the rest of the UK and Europe.

With a repertoire ranging from Elizabethan Virginal music to the works of living composers, Daniel Grimwood enjoys a solo and chamber career, which has taken him across the globe, performing on the most prestigious concert platforms, including the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room in London.

Although primarily a pianist, he is frequently to be found performing on harpsichord, organ, viola or composing at his desk. Grimwood is a passionate exponent of the early piano, and has given a recital of Chopin’s Etudes on the composer’s own Pleyel piano.
