Five self-contained holiday units have been approved for Broad Road Farm, Beaminster Road, Bridport.
Dorset Council has agreed the planning application which will see three buildings used for high-end lets, run by the Whitehead family, the farm being about 1.5 miles north of Bridport.
The application includes the north-most unit, the Woodland Cabin, to be made largely of reclaimed timber and providing two units of accommodation; a pair of independent units with a curved, reclaimed galvanised roof known as the Pig Arcs and a building called The Field Shelter to the south of the site, also using reclaimed materials.
Both Netherbury and Bradpole parish councils raised no objection to the proposals, the latter commenting: “The proposed use reclaimed and re-purposed materials is welcome and will complement the existing structures on site.”
New pedestrian paths will be built for the units and a new road access and parking places provided.
