A seven-year-old boy has been bitten by a dog walking by the harbour at West Bay
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
At around 1pm on Saturday, 23 July, the boy was walking by the harbour with his family when he was bitten on the hand by a dog.
The dog – a black Cocker Spaniel – was tied to a mobility scooter while the owner was fishing at the water’s edge.
The owner is described as a white man with a grey or white moustache and was wearing a navy blue T-shirt, blue shorts, blue and white trainers and a khaki-coloured cowboy-style hat.
The victim sustained a small puncture wound.
Following the incident, the owner put a Baskerville muzzle on the dog.
Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into this incident and am keen to identify the dog and its owner.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man from the description given to please come forward.”
