East Beach at West Bay was closed last night as emergency services dealt with an incident.
Police, coastguards and paramedics rushed to the beach shortly after 8.30pm on Tuesday.

According to Dorset Police, they received a report raising concern for the welfare of a man at the beach at around 8.35pm.
Officers attended with the coastguard and ambulance services.
East Beach and the adjacent car park were closed, with people being turned away from the scene.
Police signs were also at most access points onto the beach.
An onlooker said they saw emergency services including ambulance crews, coastguard teams and police officers on the beach about 100 yards from the pier.
They said they saw at least two ambulances parked by the Bridport Arms plus other rescue vehicles.

According to the police spokesman, the man was located and has since been taken to hospital for treatment.
Police and ambulance crews started to leave the area about 10pm.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 21.10hrs to an incident at West Bay.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Dorset County Hospital”.
