AS THE heat shows no signs of cooling down over the next few days, the council is reminding people that Dorset is a no-go area for barbecues and campfires.
The reminder comes amid the heatwave sweeping the county which will make the area ‘tinder dry’ and more susceptible to fires.
Barbecues, campfires, lanterns, and fireworks are banned under a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) across Dorset, and anyone found breaking the restriction will get a £100 fine.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: “Dorset is a no-go area for BBQ’s and campfires which could be especially dangerous over the next few days with the area tinder dry due to the heatwave.”
