Young writers from Beaminster School will be celebrating the launch of their creative writing anthology.

The children's anthology 'I Have a Dream' will be launched at Little Toller Books in Beaminster from 6pm - 7.30pm on Thursday July 14.

The anthology is the culmination of a series of creative writing workshops for pupils in Years 7, 8, and 9 by children’s charity The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares, which offers creative writing enrichment in and out of schools.

The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares’ Creative Learning Manager Janis Lane said: “We are immensely proud of the Beaminster writers, and I Have a Dream is testament to their engagement and the creative spark that is unique to young minds.

"It’s a credit to Beaminster School to recognise the power and impact this kind of enrichment can have; special mention goes to Naomi Gribler for co-ordinating the entire project with us, with thanks to headteacher Keith Hales.”

The launch will be attended by staff, pupils, parents & carers, as well as the team from Little Toller and The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares.

I Have a Dream is the charity’s inaugural publication, with another anthology written by Year 9 pupils from Bridport’s Sir John Colfox School currently in production.

The anthology is published by the charity’s own imprint, with a foreword by award winning author Max Porter.

The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares is a Bridport based children's writing charity founded by Nick Goldsmith seeking to bring writing experiences - from short stories to podcasts - to local children of all ages. The charity focuses on under-resourced children, providing unique outcomes and purpose to their writing, which is truly transformative.
