FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a calf which appeared to have fallen from a cliff edge.
A crew from Bridport Fire Station were mobilised to Seatown near Bridport after receiving reports at 11.27 am today that a calf appeared to have fallen from the edge of a cliff.
However, after liaising with the person responsible for the cattle, it was confirmed that the calf was uninjured and could self rescue.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "An Animal Rescue Tactical Advisor officer and a crew from Bridport Fire Station were mobilised to reports of a calf which appeared to have fallen from the cliff edge.
"Crews liaised with the person responsible for the cattle and they confirmed the calf was uninjured on the cliff edge and would self rescue therefore no action required by fire service."
