LODERS CE Primary Academy in Bridport has held its school summer fair for the first time in three years.

The school believes that, with the exception of the pandemic-enforced hiatus, the summer fair has been running annually since at least 1927.

The fair was organised by the school’s parent, teacher and friendsassociation and included the traditional crowning of the May queen and May king.

Every child from Loders’ nursery class (Little Acorns @ Loders) all the way through to Year 6 took part in the fair with traditional dances.

There were various stalls and games such as soak the teacher, splat a rat and, of course, a raffle and refreshments.

In total more than £1,200 was raised on the day with parents and staff all pulling together to make the event “a wonderful success”.
