THERE IS still time to enter this year's Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride which is set to take place next month.

Organisers of the annual charity bike event, which was first held in 1989, have encouraged former and potential new riders to get involved and help add to the near £2 million raised in its history.

Ride organiser and founder Peter Smith-Nicholls said: "There are still places left for all the different distances so why not sign up and help us build the ride up again after two years of coronavirus."

This year's ride will once again offer a choice of four distances of 38, 48, 63 or 100 miles for cyclists to choose from. The longer rides offer an opportunity to ride some of the route the professionals will race when the Tour of Britain comes to Dorset in September.

The ride is sponsored by Sunseeker International and supported by Primera Sports, The Hendy Group and Coles Miller Solicitors. As an added incentive to encourage the fundraising, Primera Sports will award vouchers to the top fundraiser of each distance.

All rides at the event, which takes place on Sunday July 3, start and finish at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground.
