Beaminster Town Council chair, Craig Monks said although both reports - at homes less than a mile apart - are 'concerning', he has urged these types of acts are 'rare' in the town.

He said: "The recent reports in Beaminster are concerning and my thoughts are with those affected.

"Beaminster is a quiet town with a close-knit community.

"My message to our residents is that thankfully crimes like these are a rare occurrence in Beaminster, but if any residents in the areas concerned have home CCTV or doorbell cameras please check their footage and report any suspicious activity to the police."
