Bunting was hung, flags were flown and champagne corks popped as the historic occasion of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee was celebrated.

Street parties and other community events have been held across the bumper bank holiday weekend following the lighting of beacons to start the festivities on Thursday night.

Street parties were held in communities including Bridport, Beaminster, Lyme Regis, Portesham and Netherbury yesterday.

At Watton View in Bridport residents came together with fizz, scones and other treats, and many people took the opportunity to dress up.
