A POLICE appeal has been launched following a break-in to a school in west Dorset.
Officers investigating a break-in at a school in Thorncombe are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Sometime between 9am and 9.30am on Sunday, May 29 entry was gained to St Mary’s Primary School in Chard Street.
It was reported that those involved forced open a fire door, which caused the intruder alarm to be activated.
Police Constable Kirsti Frecknall, of the Lyme Regis Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "It's not believed that anything was stolen during this incident, but locked doors inside the school were opened up and entry was gained to a classroom and staff area.
"I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, or anyone who may have information about who was responsible, to please come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220085521.
Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
