A MAN has been fined for speeding almost 40mph over the limit on a key route near Bridport last summer.
Jay Jovan Miskovic, whose address was given as Martel Close in Broadmayne, was charged with one count of exceeding the speed limit.
The 33-year-old's case was dealt with and proved using the single justice procedure at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 11.
The charge related to an incident on the A35 at Miles Cross where Miskovic was clocked travelling at 89mph in an area when the speed limit was 50mph on August 21, 2021.
As a result Mikovic was fined £461, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £46 and £90 towards court costs. The driver also had six penalty points added to his licence.
