AN EXPLOSION of Colour is the name of the exhibition of photo-art and ceramics which can be seen at the Eype Centre for the Arts
The exhibition of work by Margaret Higham and Zeba Arte (Shirley Holbrook Cooper) can be seen from June 1-7 from 10.30am-5.30pm each day.
Margaret is Bridport born and now serving as a priest in Portesham. She is continuously inspired by the Dorset landscape and challenges herself to look for something different every time she roams the countryside with her camera. She enjoys experimenting with colour and composition and for this exhibition she has chosen not to frame her work which contain all elements to be seen in everyday life and are to be found at the coast.
Zeba comes from a long line of North Allington Coopers going back 400 years. She left Bridport to spend 28 years in Ibiza where she painted murals and trompe l'oeil in restaurants, hotels, bars and private homes. She later scaled back to painting on canvas. On returning to Bridport in 2017 she took up ceramics and fell in love with it...she found she was more of an artist making pottery than a pure ceramacist. Her work is quirky and playful and encompasses a wide range of styles.
