BRIDPORT resident Lee Wyles has achieved the dream of having her debut novel published. Something Decidedly Oddd has been published under the pseudonym Lesley A. and follows the bumpy journey of a 39 year old widow and single mother through the stage of denial, self-realisation and acceptance.

Ms Wyles said seeing Something Decidedly Oddd was “absolutely delightful… a dream come true and, to be honest, a bit of a relief”. The process from initial idea to publication took four years with Ms Wyles’ good friend, Francis Collville, helpfully proof-reading the final copy.

The book itself is written in first person though Ms Wyles was keen to iterate the contents was purely fictional with no biographical basis.

Lee previously worked as a drama teacher in mainstream education and wrote many performance pieces for her students. Since relocating to Bridport almost twenty years ago, she joined Bridport Story Traders and went on to write a number of short stories which have been published or come first or second in competitions. One of those was the story of a messy parental break up told through the eyes of their four-year-old. That four-year-old was the now 39 years old Ruby of Something Decidedly Oddd.

Something Decidedly Oddd is available from The Book Shop on South Street, on Kindle and on Amazon (where the first 16 pages can be sampled) as well as other high street and online stores.
