Dorset Council has altered its programme of dredging works at local harbours so it doesn't interfere with Platinum Jubilee celebrations planned in Lyme Regis.
Dredging was due to take place in Lyme Regis from May 17-27 and in West Bay throughout most of June.
Dorset Council will now start dredging West Bay harbour on Tuesday, May 17, with dredging at Lyme Regis to begin no earlier than Monday, June 6.
"This is due to Dorset Council not wanting to potentially impact upon the Platinum Jubilee celebrations planned in Lyme Regis," a spokesman said.
"If we encounter no weather delays, we hope to be finished in West Bay on Wednesday, June 1, and then in Lyme Regis by Friday, June 24."
The council stressed that the works at West Bay will have 'little impact' on members of the public, with only a small section of West Cliff beach closed during operations.
