Find out more about a book chronicling an unlikely love match in an author talk at Bridport Library.

Caroline Repton will be discussing her new book Lotus-Eating Days on Wednesday, May 25 at 2pm.

The book chronicles the lives of Caroline's parents, an unlikely match between a middle-class Englishman and the daughter of Chinese immigrants in colonial Singapore.

Whilst they grew up on opposite sides of the globe, they shared the common bond of having both survived Japanese-occupied Asia during the Second World War.

Caroline’s meticulous research – aided by her father’s letters and diaries and her mother’s memoirs recorded on tape – results in a remarkable book and an entertaining read. Caroline will also discuss the process of writing and the challenges of getting published.
