FIREFIGHTERS searched a cliff for animals after they received reports of a possible risk to human life.
Crews from Bridport and Poole were called to Thorncombe Beacon between West Bay and Seatown beach yesterday (April 25) at around 2.45pm.
They were mobilised after they were told a farm animal had reportedly gone over a cliff, posing a possible danger to human life.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "On route back from the previous incident we were mobilised to Thorncombe Beacon to reports of a farm animal over the cliff with possible risk to human life.
"Bridport's 4x4 appliance, Poole Fire Stations technical rescue and two officers were also mobilised. With the help of a What3Words location given by the first informant who was a kayaker at sea, crews made there way to the scene.
"A safe system of work was put in place and crew members searched along the cliff edge. Although sheep were found along the cliff top, no persons or animals in distress were located so crews were stood down."
