Firefighters are battling a huge scrapyard blaze near Portesham this evening.
Multiple firecrews were called to GP Metals & Spares off the B3157 coast road.
A smoke plume from the site can be seen for miles.

Eight fire engines, two water carriers, an environmental protection unit and two support units are at the scene tonight.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 8pm: "We're currently in attendance at an incident on Bramdon Lane, Portesham involving a large scrap fire. Please can all residents in the area keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke plume."

Police have closed the coast road at Portesham whilst emergency services deal with the incident. Drivers are urged to find an alternative route.

In an update just before 9pm, the fire service said it's likely this incident will be ongoing overnight "due to the nature of these types of fires".
The brigade issued another reminder to local residents to keep their windows and doors closed.
