A NEW dedicated app has been launched to showcase the best food and drink businesses across Dorset.

Mayor of Lyme Regis Cllr Brian Larcombe MBE and Mayor of Bridport Cllr Ian Bark joined the team to celebrate the official launch of the Jurassic Feast App

The launch was hosted by ambassador and partner Mark Hix MBE at his Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis.

He was joined by fellow ambassador Gill Meller and 50 Jurassic Feast Partners, some of the region’s best food and drink businesses.

Lyme Regis mayor Cllr Brian Larcombe said: “It's good to see this kind of local initiative and the level of business take-up it’s achieving, particularly when its principal ingredients are of quality and sustainability.

"In this respect the Jurassic Feast initiative, with its focus on local, independent businesses and an offering that reflects the area, fits the bill beautifully.

"Very well done to all concerned in this quality, locally focussed venture, and the part it plays in the area’s offering as a destination of choice."

Jurassic Feast focuses on companies on the county's Jurassic Coastline as part of a digital loyalty scheme, with some 75 businesses already signed up in the Lyme Bay and surrounding area.

Subscribers to the app access exclusive rewards, discounts, offers and value-adds in return for supporting the local food and drink businesses it features.

Membership prices are £3/month or a Value Membership is £15 for six months. The Just Visiting Plan is £5 valid for two weeks. Giving back Jurassic Feast donates three per cent of its income to local charities Project Food and Seaside Store and national charity Fareshare.
