The weekend is almost here and there's plenty to enjoy all around Dorset.

For example, the Dorset Echo has a full section dedicated to local events listings - a space for gigs, tours, family events, courses and much more.

Outside of those official listings, there are other activities, concert gigs, stand-up performances and much more to do.

If you were looking for the ultimate guide to what's on in Dorset, here are just some of the main events taking place in the county during the weekend of April 8-10.
