ORGANISERS of Bridport Carnival are still looking for more people and groups to get involved.

The carnival is set to take place in August with the parade on Saturday 20 and the torchlight procession to West Bay on Sunday 21.

Those who manage the carnival are still looking for more people to get involved either with a vehicle float or a walking parade.

Parade manager Gill Taylor said: “A fun way to be part of the community in which you choose to live, is to help with or enter in the Bridport Community Carnival.

“It is also a fun way to raise funds for your club or group by becoming a beneficiary of the Bridport Community Carnival."

Organisers feared the torchlight procession may have not got ahead this year after being told following the last event in 2019 that traffic officers who shut the road it crosses were no longer prepared to do so.

However, following talks between various parties it was announced earlier this year the procession could take place - a key driving factor behind the whole event taking place because of the money it brings in.

Entry forms for the parade can be found at the tourist information centre or funeral directors A.G. Down or via www.bridportcarnival.co.uk
