POLICE in Dorset have issued an important reminder to anyone who has their passport stolen.
Residents are reminded that if their passport is taken they should report it to HM Passport Officer as soon as it is possible to do so.
People are also urged to retain a record of the number in the passport, in addition to the date of issue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “If your passport is stolen, you should report it to HM Passport Office as soon as possible.
“This will help reduce the risk of anyone else using your passport or identity.
“Always keep a note of your passport number and date of issue.”
