THERE'LL be a big 'scrumpy and western' party when The Wurzels come to town on Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The quintessentially west country band will play Bridport Electric Palace on Saturday, April 16 from 8pm.

Signed to label heavyweights Columbia and EMI, The Wurzels continue to play hundreds of sell-out shows and festivals every year, and insist on returning to Dorset.

The Wurzels as always will bring their celebration of all things scrumpy 'n' western – a genre packed full of double entendre, mainstream parody and a comical folk style.

Their cover of Kaiser Chiefs’ Ruby has been a massive show favourite of late, as well as hip hop versions of the ubiquitous originals.

Hailing from Somerset, The Wurzels are well known for their number one hit single The Combine Harvester and number three single I Am A Cider Drinker.

The band is made up of Tommy Banner, Pete Budd, John Morgan and Sedge Moore, who together released a long list of albums over the years, including Greatest Hits, Christmas records and live LPs.

Tickets are priced from £21. They're available at www.electricpalace.org.uk or by calling 01308 424901 or in person from Bridport TIC.
