POLICE across Dorset are raising awareness of street harassment and abuse - and how to properly intervene.
The Enough Campaign advises the public on how to intervene if they see harassment or abuse in the street.
The campaign says that if a person sees abuse and they do not feel it is safe or appropriate to intervene, they can involve others - whether that is a member of staff, a supervisor, security, or the police.
Police are now members of the public to raise the alarm and 'call out' their friends - making them aware their behaviour is not acceptable - if they make offensive or abusive comments.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "Street harassment is abuse.
"We can call out our friends when they make offensive or abusive comments."
