A PERSON who was caught speeding told police they were going too fast because they were 'desperate for the toilet'.
Dorset Traffic Cops said the driver was one of many exceeding the 50mph limit on the coast road between Bridport and Weymouth.
A spokesman for Dorset Traffic Cops said: "We’ve been across the county trying to focus the minds of those exceeding reasonable limits and dealing with the consequences when things go wrong.
"This involved responding to and commencing an investigation into a collision in the Sherborne area as well as surveying speeds on the Bridport coast road. This driver was one of many exceeding the 50mph limit, informing us they did so as they were desperate for the toilet.
"We enjoy our cars and bikes as much as anyone else, but we take no pleasure in picking up the pieces when things go wrong so as we start another week with the weather looking to stay, please enjoy our roads safely."
