A HOUSEBUILDER has donated £50,000 to support the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal with the Red Cross.

Barratt Developments, which is bringing new homes to Dorset through its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes sites, made the donation through its charitable organisation, The Barratt Foundation.

The funds will go straight to the Red Cross, a partner of the charity Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which is working inside Ukraine and at its borders to ease the suffering of those caught in the conflict.

Jon Green, Barratt Developments Managing Director Southampton Division, said: “We’ve all been affected by the distressing news from Ukraine. We are happy to donate to support the vital work the Red Cross is doing to ease suffering and help families.”

Mike Adamson, Chief Executive of British Red Cross, said: “This donation will help us reach people with food, water, medicine, medical equipment, and other essentials. We thank Barratt for its kind support."
