A charity based in Dorset will benefit from a garden open day.

Money will be raised for MYTIME Young Carers when the Fonthill Estate in south west Wiltshire opens its gates on Sunday, June 12 from 12pm to 5pm.

With refreshments available, stalls selling locally made produce and gifts and live entertainment including a performance from soprano Poppy Neame, the event promises to be a truly memorable one.

The Fonthill Estate is a historic, period property surrounded by immaculate formal gardens, a working kitchen garden and a wild woodland area. The estate also features a beautiful lake and an expansive Deer Park, now home to a flock of grazing sheep.

Usually the gardens are a private sanctuary for Lord Margadale and his family.

Dorset-based MYTIME Young Carers supports children as young as five who are caring for a family member.

The charity's fundraising director Penelope Day said: "We are so excited to have been chosen as this year’s national charity for the Fonthill Estate Open Garden. We know how much people look forward to the event and how many people come every year, so we think it’s going to be a brilliant opportunity for us to raise awareness about the young people we support and the responsibilities they take on to care for family members who need them."

MYTIME Young Carers is planning to add a few extra special elements to the event, including an immersive woodland experience for guests to enjoy as they explore the grounds.
