The Met Office named Storm Franklin on Sunday, with strong winds and squalls already seen across Dorset last night.

The weather warning for wind remains in place until 1pm today with wind speeds increasing as the morning progresses.

The Environment Agency has also issued a flood alert for the Dorset coast, warning of an ocean surge and power and large waves.

People are being warned to stay away from the coast.

The alert will be reviewed later today.

Here's when Storm Franklin will hit us hardest today

Wind around midnight will be around 36mph.

This will remain around the same until 5am, when gusts could increase to 40mph and climb from there.

By 10am, gusts of wind will be around 50mph, at 11am they will be 52mph and midday 53mph predicts the Met Office.

From 1pm, they will begin to drop again.

We are also expected to see sunshine from 11am tomorrow.
