GOALKEEPER Greg Taylor will lead Bridport this weekend as the Bees travel to Brislington for their Toolstation Western League clash (3pm).

Taylor fills in for the unavailable caretaker boss Shaun Annetts, who will manage the side until a new head coach is appointed.

Interviews took place last week and this week but the Bees are in no rush to name a successor, preferring to take their time and make a telling appointment.

Taylor will be assisted by midfielder Dom McAllister and former caretaker boss Mark Lock, who was interim boss in 2008 before Ian Hutchinson became Bridport manager.

Speaking ahead of the Brislington game, Annetts said: “Brislington, in our last 10 games, we have to target fixtures that possibly lend themselves to being a possibility of getting a result.

“It’s disappointing I won’t be there. I won’t know how many games I’ve got in charge – it could be one more, it could be two – I don’t know.

“If they don’t find the right person I suppose I could be there for the remaining games.

“I’m just looking to get an improvement week-on-week. There will be a few games, Brislington being one of them, where we feel that we can put in a performance – you never know.

“As you can imagine, confidence in the side is nil when we play and get beaten heavily most weeks, confidence levels – which are hugely important in football – are at an all-time low.

“It’s my job to instil some confidence and we’re playing a team that are not doing as well. We’ll try to perform and make a game of things. That’s all I can ask.”

McAllister returns from suspension but centre-back Dan Baggs is unavailable.
