A LANDMARK hotel is undergoing a multi-million pound transformation ready to reopen to guests for the summer season.

Sixteen bedrooms at the iconic Moonfleet Manor are being refurbished, three Coach Houses upgraded and the lounge redecorated.

Dorset-based Luxury Family Hotels, which runs the venue near Weymouth, said the transformation project would take place over the coming weeks ready for the site to welcome guests from March.

The multi-million-pound investment project will see the refurbishment of guest bedrooms located within the classic Georgian manor house, which offers spectacular views of Chesil Beach.

All Coach Houses will also be upgraded to include three luxurious bedrooms per accommodation, each featuring a king-sized master bedroom and two twin bedrooms. The property will also unveil an updated lounge and a brand-new, fully accessible room.

Managing director of Luxury Family Hotels, Simon Maguire said: "With a fresh new look and design upgrades for our bedrooms and lounges, we’re looking forward to welcoming families back to an elevated version of the Jurassic Coast hotel they know and love, just in time for the summer."

Designed by award-winning interiors experts Studio Jill, the bedrooms will feature luxurious four-poster beds, brand-new bathrooms and a colour palette inspired by the hotel’s unique location overlooking Chesil Beach.

Original antique furniture will be combined with modern, hand-crafted pieces, playful prints and a combination of quirky modern artworks and commissioned local photography.

Texture will be used throughout to reflect the slightly rugged landscape, creating a welcoming atmosphere where families will instantly feel at home.

Surrounded by striking views of the Jurassic Coast, the Georgian manor house also provides guided fossil discovery walks and dinnertime magic tricks to ‘Dino’ crazy Golf and an indoor play area filled with toys, games, arcade machines and escape rooms.

Parents can make the most of 90 minutes of complimentary childcare per night stayed - a staple of all Luxury Family Hotels properties - with a range of pampering treatments at the hotel’s treatment rooms or a cocktail or two at the well-stocked bar.

The works are the latest in a series of investments for the Luxury Family Hotels group, alongside the recent multi-million-pound development of Fowey Hall in South Cornwall, also due to be completed in Spring 2022.

The Fowey Hall project will include 24 new bedrooms, a new outdoor swimming pool and a total relandscaping of the grounds and driveway, building on last year’s multi-million-pound refurbishment of the existing bedrooms and communal spaces.

Nightly rates at Moonfleet Manor start from £120 per night on a bed & breakfast basis.
