POLICE across Dorset have relaunched a 'cuckooing' warning to the public.

Cuckooing is the practice of taking over the home of a vulnerable person in order to establish a base for illegal drug dealing - typically as part of a county lines operation.

Dorset Police warned the public of the illegal practice in September after a huge police presence descended on Weymouth Train Station on August 25 as British Transport Police (BTP) ramped up an enhanced operation targeting County Lines activity across the south west region.

Now, the police have relaunched that warning.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "Drug dealers sometimes set up shop in the home of a vulnerable person in a small rural or coastal town. This is called cuckooing.

"If you think this is happening to one of your neighbours please report it to us using our non-emergency channels such as www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online."
