We're being warned of record high energy prices this winter which will severely stretch households budgets for many families.

It is said that those on low incomes and in less efficient homes will face the most pressing financial hardship, possibly cold homes with resultant health issues.

Fortunately help is at hand - Bridport Town Council, working with the Centre for Sustainable Energy in Bristol, are offering free energy efficiency advice sessions to help local residents understand energy issues and take practical steps to improve the energy efficiency of homes.

The sessions are part of the delivery of Bridport Town Council's climate emergency action plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Five online advice sessions will take place between January and March.

Informal drop-in sessions will follow each session to help energy champions organise and undertake practical action on energy issues.

The sessions are as follows:

Drop-in session 1: Community Shed, Mountfield, Tuesday, January 25 - 11am-noon
